You’ve got nothing on me, Catelyn Stark.

You see that “V” in the coastline in the very background of this Game of Thrones pic? Did you know there’s a rope bridge spanning that “V”? It’s called the Carrick-a-rede rope bridge and it’s in Northern Ireland. And last month while on our vacay in the U.K, yours truly walked to it,crossed over and back, and walked back to the car without passing out.

It’s only.66 km, yes that is a decimal in front of the 6.

I know that doesn’t seem very far but it’s not a straight and flat path. It follows the coastline and it is hilly and windy and has several sets of stone steps and a very steep set of metal stairs down to the bridge itself. I had to stop a couple of times on the way back to the car to catch my breath but it was so worth the huffing and puffing and lack of hydration. Thank God Ireland is a lot cooler in the summer than Texas!

Just one of the awesome views from the rope bridge.

David on the rope bridge. Those metal stairs in the background go straight up!
About halfway down the hiking path. On the right side of the photo you will see people crossing the rope bridge.
